Hello New Year!!
We are finally in 2021, and this year has already been crazy. We are only 20 something days in, and we have had an insurrection of the Capitol building, new stimulus money, and finally a new President/ Vice President. Oh yeah, and the most important thing is we have a vaccine that people are taking now. This year has brought about many changes so far, and I’m still optimistic about this year. I know God has some great things in store for me, my family, friends, and more. Last year brought about opening my eyes to problems that needed to be fixed, and this year will bring about manifesting everything I learned last year. This is the year to take charge and walk in my destiny.
I had my first virtual writing event, and I have to say, it went great. If this were me last year, I would not have even volunteered to do this. I’m in a writer’s group on Facebook and a post about being a panelist for an upcoming writing event. I sent an email inquiring about more information, and a couple of days later, I was on the panelist to speak about writing and being an author. I was still nervous and had butterflies in my stomach while speaking, but I got through it. I’m excited that I accomplished that goal and told Elijah I would be up for doing this again in the future. I have also put on the finishing touches on my grandmother’s book, and her story will empower young women in the world. Her story is strong, and everything she has been through has made her the strong woman she is now.
This year I have started my weight loss journey again, and I know this has been a back-and-forth battle with me. This time is the time I will conquer my goal. I tried a cleanse, and it did its job. I do feel like all the toxins out of my body. I started to change my eating habits by eating more fruits, vegetables, more water, and less not so good foods. I got back on my Peloton bike, and I used our Nintendo Switch Fit Ring. I’m turning the big 4-0 and it’s time to get healthy, not just for me but for my family as well. I know this journey has been challenging for me, but I’m determined to lose this weight and get back to my weight before baby. I have found a way to ride my bike without counting the time I have been on the back. I watch my favorite shows, which helps me not count the time and enjoy being on the bike. I’m glad I found a way to ride and not get in my head about it.
This year has brought some great things already, and I can’t wait for the rest of the year to kick ass. Remember, stay strong, and no matter what comes your way, you got this, sis! Don’t let anyone block your shine and dim your light. Last year was different for everyone, don’t get down on yourself because you may not have accomplished a lot. Shit, who did! You survived, and that’s the most important thing. This year will be better, and more will get done! Be great! Until Next Time!!
